Handling of Personal Information
Note: Anjean is currently preparing for service launch. This policy will apply when the service launches.
Anjean Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the guide matching platform service (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") provided on this website.
Article 1 (Personal Information)
"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act, which is information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, or other descriptions contained in the information, as well as data related to appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and health insurance card numbers that can identify a specific individual from the information alone (personal identification information).
Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)
The Company may ask for the following personal information when users register:
- As a tourist: Name, email address, phone number, desired travel content, language settings, etc.
- As a guide: Name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, qualification information, areas of expertise, supported languages, bank account information, etc.
- During service use: Location information, usage history, ratings and review information, etc.
Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)
The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:
- To provide and operate the guide-tourist matching service
- To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
- To send information about new features, updates, campaigns, etc. of the service being used
- For necessary communications such as maintenance and important notices
- To identify users who violate the terms of use or attempt to use the service for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use
- To allow users to view, change, or delete their registered information and view their usage status
- To charge users for paid services
- To pay compensation to guides
- To improve service quality and create statistical data
- For purposes incidental to the above purposes
Article 4 (Change of Purpose of Use)
- The Company shall change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the purpose of use is related to the purpose before the change.
- When the purpose of use is changed, the Company shall notify users or announce on this website the changed purpose in the manner prescribed by the Company.
Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
- The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's consent in advance, except in the following cases and unless permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act and other laws and regulations:
- When necessary for the protection of a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
- When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, local government, or a person entrusted by them in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the person may impede the execution of such affairs
- When the following matters have been announced or published in advance and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission
- Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the recipient of information shall not be considered a third party in the following cases:
- When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use
- When personal information is provided due to business succession through merger or other reasons
- When personal information is used jointly with specific parties, and the user has been notified in advance or placed in a state where the user can easily know about the joint use, items of personal information to be used jointly, scope of joint users, purpose of use, and the name of the person responsible for managing the personal information
Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)
- When requested to disclose personal information by the person concerned, the Company shall disclose it to the person without delay. However, the Company may not disclose all or part of the information if disclosure would:
- Harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the person or a third party
- Significantly interfere with the proper execution of the Company's business
- Otherwise violate laws and regulations
- Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as history information and characteristic information, will not be disclosed in principle.
Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
- Users may request the Company to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "correct, etc.") personal information if their personal information held by the Company is incorrect.
- If the Company receives a request from a user under the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to respond to the request, the Company shall correct the personal information without delay.
- When the Company has made corrections based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to make corrections, the Company shall notify the user without delay.
Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)
- If the Company is requested by the person to stop or delete the use of personal information (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use, etc.") on the grounds that the personal information is being handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use or was obtained by fraudulent means, the Company shall conduct necessary investigations without delay.
- If, based on the investigation results of the preceding paragraph, it is determined that the request should be granted, the Company shall suspend the use of the personal information without delay.
- When the Company has suspended use based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to suspend use, the Company shall notify the user without delay.
- Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if suspension of use involves large costs or is otherwise difficult, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the user's rights and interests, such alternative measures shall be taken.
Article 9 (Changes to Privacy Policy)
- The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except for matters otherwise stipulated by law or in this Policy.
- Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the changed privacy policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
